Safety first !
Proper storage and handling for Powerful Lithium batteries is crucial to ensure their safety, longevity, and performance. Here are some key guidelines to follow:
1. Temperature Control
2. Humidity
Keep the storage area low in humidity. High moisture levels can lead to corrosion and other issues. Protect battery from water/rain damage.
3. Charge Level
Store batteries at a partial charge, typically around 40% to 60%. This helps in maintaining the battery's health over long periods. Inspect Voltage every 3-4 weeks and maintain 40-60% SOC, especially in a winter period. Do not store battery under 40% of charge.
4. Avoid Direct Sunlight
Store in a shaded area away from direct sunlight to prevent overheating.
5. Ventilation
Ensure the storage area is well-ventilated to dissipate heat and prevent the buildup of gases.
6. Regular Inspection
Periodically check the batteries for any signs of swelling, leakage, or damage, especially physical damage. Dispose of any compromised batteries properly.
7. Avoid Physical Stress
Do not stack heavy items on top of battery packs to avoid physical damage.
8. Connector/Connection
When connecting the battery connector to the controller, it is essential to ensure that the polarity is correct and that the connector is fully engaged. Additionally, when the battery is not in use, please ensure that the battery connector is disconnected from the motorbike controller to prevent any unintended power draw or potential damage. Make sure that Connector or wires are not damaged or burned.
9. Charging
Proper charging of lithium-ion batteries is essential for maintaining their performance and longeveity.
-
DO NOT LEAVE BATTERY ON A CHARGER UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME.
-
AS SOON AS BATTERY IS FULLY CHARGED, MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG BATTERY FROM A CHARGER IMMEDIATELY
Always use the charger specifically designed for your lithium-ion battery. This ensures compatibility and safe charging. Charge batteries in a cool, dry area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Avoid charging in extremely cold or hot conditions.
By following these guidelines, you can ensure safe and effective charging of lithium-ion batteries, ultimately enhancing their performance and lifespan.
Ride safe!
